Northwest Patent Litigation Blog

About

Dana Herberholz is the creator and author of the Northwest Patent Litigation Blog. Dana’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, with particular emphasis on patent litigation. He has represented companies in patent litigation matters involving a wide variety of technologies including flat panel displays, digital projectors, wireless communication technology, image enhancement technology, infrared thermometers, and electronic vehicle braking technologies. Dana practices with the  firm of Parsons Behle & Latimer in Boise, Idaho.

Dana grew up in Spokane, Washington with the dream of becoming a professional racecar driver. He began racing go karts competitively at the age of seven and later raced stock cars in the Pacific Northwest until attending law school. Dana graduated from the University of Washington in 2002 with degrees in Cellular & Molecular Biology and Law, Societies & Justice. He decided to attend law school while serving as a Student Senator at the University of Washington, and he later graduated from the Gonzaga University School of Law where he focused his studies on intellectual property law.

Dana created the Northwest Patent Litigation Blog to serve as a resource for attorneys and litigants who practice in the Northwest or who find themselves in one of the district courts in the Northwest for the first time. The blog will focus on orders and judicial opinions in patent cases in the Western District of Washington, Eastern District of Washington, District of Idaho, and District of Oregon. From time to time, the blog will also address key appellate opinions in patent cases—particularly those involving companies in the Northwest. Dana hopes the blog will encourage healthy discussion and debate and that it will foster relationships among those involved in patent litigation in the Northwest.
